Gabrielle Shirdon, MS, CCTP, LCPC
Gabrielle Shirdon MS, CCTP, LCPC provides counseling to adults 18+ who are experiencing mental health challenges. She graduated from McDaniel College and with a Masters in Counseling. Gabrielle is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and trained in CBT and Basic EMDR. She has experience working with children, adolescents and adults who have experienced mental health challenges. She has spent several years working for various community mental health agencies providing substance abuse and mental health treatment before deciding to start her own practice. Her areas of focus include, but are not limited to; depression, anxiety, substance abuse, trauma, PTSD, grief, Bipolar Disorder, effective communication, developing healthy relationships, and developing assertiveness. She is LGBTQ+ friendly and welcomes diversity.
Although Gabrielle does not work with children and teens anymore she does offer Parent Coaching. As a parent and professional who has worked with children and families she can help parents struggling with addressing behavior problems, setting limits, appropriate discipline, and co-parenting*.
*co-parenting requires both parents involvement.
Gabrielle also provides EMDR treatment. EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.
It is a form of therapy that helps people heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences. EMDR therapy has been extensively researched and has demonstrated effectiveness for trauma.

$100 per 50-minute session
Gabrielle is currently a provider for Aetna.
She is an out-of-network provider for other insurance companies.
She can provide you with a receipt to submit to your insurance company and they will reimburse you directly. She is in the process of joining CareFirst BCBS and Cigna.
